US Federal Authorities recommend daily small aspirin for heart, stroke and colorectal risk prevention
In September 2015, The US Preventative Services Task Force formally recommended that people over the age of 50 years took a baby aspirin daily to reduce the risk of heart attack, strokes and colorectal cancer.
The recommendations are very specific and based on an analysis of available research.
One of those studies showed people who took the baby aspirin for ten years also had a greatly reduced risk of colorectal cancer. The recommendations were welcomed by the American Cancer Society.
A baby aspirin is 75mg in the UK; 81mg in the USA.
