People with Type-2 Diabetes usually have tissue and vascular damage in their livers. Researchers  at the Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok have shown that curcumin, an active ingredient of turmeric root, can repair and regenerate the damaged tiisues.

The researchers took diabetic rats with diabetes and all the classic pathology smyptoms of liver problems. Administering curcumin daily, they reversed the damage and showed clear evidence of liver repair.

Chris Woollams added, “Unfortunately the diets of the Thais, with large amounts of white and sticky rice, make diabetes a common problem in Thailand. Here is a simple food additive that can protect them. Turmeric is always best taken in cooking with fats as that aids absorpption”.
