Gardening reduces poor sleep issues

The length of time you spend gardening is inversely proportional to sleep complaints; the more you do, the less sleep problems you will have.

In a study of 62,098 adults, lowered levels of multiple sleep complaints were shown the longer time people spent gardening. This inverse correlation was true whether a person had one particular sleep issue or multiple issues.

The participants were divided into non-exercisers (16707), exercisers (41148) and gardeners (4243). The gardening group had significantly less sleep issues than the non-exercisers. These issues included sleep apnea, short sleep duration, insomnia and daytime drowsiness.
