In, what is being described as, a major breakthrough, researchers have managed to use stem cells in rats to generate dopamine, a chemical in short supply for most prostate patients.

Malin Parmar, an associate professor at Lund University, Department of Medicine, in Sweden led a team that showed stem cells could be used to make new Dopamine-producing cells which could then be used in rats. (Cell Stem Cell). The new cells replaced the previously-destroyed dopamine-producing cells and fitted in with existing brain and body metabolism.
